Magnus Sora (Title pending) was a project worked on
by a team of four developers. The
project originated in 2010 and ceased operations after several months. We’ve worked steadily everyday but
unfortunately the project closed.
Now with 2014 approaching around the corner, I have recently dug up what was left of Magnus Sora and decided to bring the concept back to light once more but with new appropriate changes. As I re-read the original ideas, the notes had both pros and cons about bringing the world to life. So I am going to take the original concepts and begin the project again from scratch. I plan on modifying original ideas and drastically updating them appropriately.
When we first began the project back in 2010 we utilized a normal sculpt build. Since then with the implementation of better networking and coding and along with the use of Mesh objects. I plan to solely create the project with zBrush/Mesh.
This Role Play (MMORPG) project is being constructed offline with an application known as Sim on a Stick. We are creating a 4 x 4 (16 sim) region in hopes of developing not just a Role Play Sim, but a Role Play “World.” Our current prospects are either Kitely or Inworldz.
Unfortunately the developers I collaborated with years ago have a disappeared from the Virtual world and I have no way of contacting them. Which is why I’m looking to bring in New Content Creators.
About Me:
I began diving into the Internet world of gaming/virtual communities back in 2002. From there I have developed an understanding of what that completely entails. Of course the tools present are astronomical in comparison with a decade ago as far as Quality but also Efficiency. As the years go on, a small team can blossom when establishing a virtual world/game.
I originally began my interest in game design when I was 15 and working with 2d graphic and level design with an open-user content creator. This was known as Graal Online (A 2d game still running after almost 20 years) this software inspired me where I would spend hours on end creating new content.
In 2005, an online friend I knew through Graal introduced me to Second Life, which would mark my first time stepping into the Virtual World platform. I began building basic content a year later. (Of course my designs were very limited and turned out somewhat of an eyesore but technology wasn’t what it is in comparison today.) From there I have helped contributed in creating Role Play sims Like Magnus Sora, Vindarkis, The Huns (Ancient World Combat Sim) are just to name the few.
Recently in 2013, I finally evolved to the next step. I was once the typical builder that utilized sculpts and shapes to build creations. Now I have self-taught myself how to use Zbrush and my way of development has changed completely forever. I am now efficient in Zbrush and continue to truck away at creating new Mesh content to contribute to the Role Play world (MMORPG).
My ability in contributing to this project is building environments. My strength and enjoyment is creating landscapes such as trees, flowers, bushes, mountains, rocks, water and so on.
With a 4 x 4 region (Roughly almost 1 mile by 1 mile big) I will not be able to work on this project alone unless I wanted to spend four years on it (Which of course I would rather not). I am currently looking for a small team that is interested in development.
This project as it stands right now is an “Idea/Concept” but is currently Non-profit, which means the people I am looking for have a love for Role Play and have been looking for a project. Keep in mind that this will change with time but that will relate to what occurs after release. Meaning this is currently NoN-Profit but could turn profitable for everyone after construction is done and the game is online and functional.
(For example, if person A makes a bunch of armors for sale, all profit will go to that person whenever someone buys one of their armors.)
